ABSTRACT:
The video information corresponding to a still picture is recorded along a track of the video disc at a first set of preselected track locations and a digitized and compressed audio signal relating to the still picture is recorded along the track of the video disc at a second set of preselected track locations. The data amount of the audio signal in each track is equal to the first data amount within which the audio data is interleaved for error correction. At the beginning of each of the tracks of the second set of preselected track locations, track number information is recorded representing the number of tracks in which the audio signal relating to the single still picture is recorded. The data amount of the track number information is the difference between the second data amount capable of recording in each track of the second set of preselected track locations and the first data amount.
