ABSTRACT:
A method for sampling and fixing urinary metabolites on an immobilizing support which is a paper comprising a substance appropriately activated before use. The determination of the or each required metabolite is expressed in relation to the determination of a metabolite where excretion is constant with time. The appropriately activated substance may be an ion exchange resin or silica gel. The method may be used for determining delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), or trichloroacetic acid and trichloroethanol conjugated with glucuronic acid, in urine samples.
