ABSTRACT:
A system (100), apparatus (106 107), and method are provided for an end-user to program-by-rehearsal an Ambient Intelligence environment comprising an Ambient Narrative of at least one beat (104). The end-user's rehearsal actions are visualized on a screen106) of a portable device (101) that the end-user carries and uses to make inputs while rehearsing a beat being programmed in the actual physical space where the beat is active. The programming-by-rehearsal actions are instantly visualized on a virtual stage (106), i.e., screen, of the portable device (101) so that the end-user has immediate feedback concerning the effects of programming-by-rehearsal actions taken by the end-user.
