ABSTRACT:
A method of producing a coolable annular support for internally cooled piston rings and comprising an annular body, a cooling channel plate and respective tubular bodies or plate-shaped bodies disposed on or in openings of the plate. End portions of legs of the cooling channel plate with edge portions of the annular body via laser beams of at least one laser in a continuous wave operation, accompanied by an inert gas and metal powder as an additive, such that guiding the laser beams at least predominately onto the annular body a first weld seam is produced by partial melting or fusing of the annular body, partial melting or fusing of the cooling channel plate, and melting or fusing of applied metal powder. The path of movement of the annular support or laser beams is greater than 360°. A wall of a respective tubular body or plate-shaped body is interconnected with a rim portion of one of the openings via at least one second weld seam.
