The object of the present invention is to provide a production method for a silicate phosphor having high brightness. This object is achieved by the method for producing a silicate phosphor comprising a step of calcining a mixture of metal compounds, wherein one of the metal compounds is silicon oxide having BET specific surface area of not less than 10 m2/g.
