A method for producing ethers comprises the following steps:initiating telomerization process of a conjugated diene compound with an hydroxyl compound represented by the following formula (I):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R1OH  (I)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?in the presence of a palladium compound, a tertiary isocyanide represented by the following formula (II):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?R2NC  (II),in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?and a base; andadding halfway through the telomerization process a tertiary phosphine represented by the following formula (III):in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?PR3R4R5  (III)in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?(the respective symbols are defined in the description).
