ABSTRACT:
Hard metal carbide alloys are produced by nitriding a mixture of finely divided refractory metals selected from group VI of the periodic table of elements, a refractory metal selected from group IV and V of the periodic table of elements and a metal selected from the iron group, under temperatures below 1250.degree. for a time less than 12 hours.
