ABSTRACT:
A method for processing a silver halide color photographic material including a step of developing the material with a developer containing an aromatic primary amine color developing agent and at least one compounds represented by the following general formulae (Ia) and (Ib): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or an unsubstituted alkyl group; R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7, which may be the same or different, each represents an unsubstituted alkylene group; X.sup.1 and X.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represents ##STR2## --O--, --S--, --CO--, --SO.sub.2 or --SO--, or a combination thereof, and R.sup.8 represents a hydrogen atom or an unsubstituted alkyl group; and m and n, which may be the same or different, each is 0, 1, 2 or 3; and ##STR3## wherein R.sup.13 represents a substituted alkylene group; and R.sup.9, R.sup.10, R.sup.11 and R.sup.12, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. The developer has superior stability and reduces fogging in continuous processing.
