ABSTRACT:
A non-aqueous electrochemical cell comprising an active metal anode, an organic electrolyte and a cathode comprising a minor amount of V.sub.6 O.sub.13. The resulting cell has been found to be resistant to internal gas generation. The inclusion of V.sub.6 O.sub.13 is particularly useful in lithium/manganese dioxide cells.
