A method for preparing diorganopolysiloxanes containing fluoroalkyl and/or fluoroalkyloxyalkyl groups which comprises hydrolyzing dichlorosilanes containing fluororalkyl and/or fluoroalkyloxyalkyl groups and thereafter equilibrating the hydrolyzed product in the presence of a compound having the formula
