ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to the chemistry of polymers and, more specifically, to a method for preparing of branched polyethylenimine.
The method of this invention resides in that a 2-aryl (alkyl)-2-oxazoline is subjected to an isomerizing polymerization with the formation of a poly-N-aroyl(acyl)ethylenimine which is then hydrolyzed and the resulting linear polyethylenimine is alkylated in the presence of .beta.-chlorethylene or .beta.-aminoethylsulphate at a molar ratio of the alkylation agent to the linear polyethylenimine equal to at least 0.5:1 respectively.
