ABSTRACT:
According to the present invention there is provided a method for preparing a silver salt diffusion transfer imaging element comprising the steps of coating in the order given on a grained and anodized side of an aluminum support (i) an image receiving layer containing physical development nuclei, (ii) a photosensitive layer containing a silver halide emulsion in water permeable relationship with said image receiving layer and (iii) optionally an antistress layer in water permeable relationship with said image receiving layer, characterized in that said aluminum support, provided with said image receiving layer, is kept at a relative humidity of at least 45% in an area of a machine, the said area being ahead of a coating head used for coating said photosensitive layer.
