ABSTRACT:
Apparatus and method for manufacturing crushed sands from blast furnace melted slags including maintaining molten blast furnace melted slags out of contact with water while cooling the molten slags to a temperature between 850.degree. C. to 1300.degree. C. and then rapidly cooling the cooled slags with water thereby producing coarse grain hard quality water processed slags.
