ABSTRACT:
A method for manufacturing a variator component of a continuously variable transmission having a plurality of cylindrical sections and a plurality of ball spline grooves, which are provided alternately in an inner radial region of the variator component. The method includes: simultaneously finishing the cylindrical sections and the ball spline grooves through use of a hard broaching tool; and finishing functional surfaces provided on side surfaces of the variator component while taking the cylindrical sections as a machining reference.
