ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a method for the isolation of silymarin fromsilybum marianumseeds without precooling wherein the ground seeds are defatted using a hydrocarbon solvent, followed by extraction with a nontoxic medium polarity solvent, purification of the dried extract and drying of the crystals thus obtained.
