ABSTRACT:
A combination of drugs including a kappa opioid receptor agonist and a dopamine receptor blocker or dopamine receptor agonist provides a synergistic effect in inducing hypothermia and/or poikilothermia in humans and animals. Hypothermia as much as 10.degree. C. at an ambient temperature of 20.degree. C. is possible, with complete recovery and few, if any, side effects.
