ABSTRACT:
The inner surface of a faceplate panel of a cathode-ray tube is cleaned and then precoated with water-insoluble, organic, polymeric particles, the precoating having a weight of 0.08 to 0.80 and preferably 0.20 to 0.40 mg/cm.sup.2. A subsequently applied phosphor-photobinder coating is exposed to a light image and then developed with a turbulent quantity of aqueous liquid. The phosphor-photobinder coating exhibits improved adherence during the developing step due to the presence of the precoating.
