ABSTRACT:
A method for zig-zag folding a web of sheet material includes feeding the web with a pair of rollers against an obstacle to form a loop. The loop is engaged by a roller having a higher peripheral speed than the pair and engaged against another obstacle to form a fold line from the first loop and to form a second loop. Another roller having a higher peripheral speed than the pair forms the second loop into a fold line, and the steps are repeated to form a zig-zag folded stack.
