ABSTRACT:
Minor slides in a geologic exploratory trench are stabilized by applying a ater diluted vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion to the trench walls. Although the resulting emulsion and sand crust provides no structural support, it provides a surface cohesion which effectively stops all minor sliding and permits normal engineering logging to proceed.
