ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to the identification of complexes of human leukocyte antigen A2 (HLA-A2) molecules and a tyrosinase-derived peptide having the amino acid sequence Met Leu Leu Ala Val Leu Tyr Cys Leu Leu. The invention further relates to the detection of these complexes on the surface of abnormal cells and, in particular, on the surface of melanoma cells. The therapeutic and diagnostic ramifications of this observation are the subject of the invention.
