ABSTRACT:
Colored plastic granules are obtained by mixing plastic granules with particles of a colouring agent composition until the coloring agent composition particles are attached to the surface of the plastic granules. The coloring agent composition particles used are substantially spherical; in the particles the coloring agent, such as a pigment, is completely wetted with the carrier present in the composition. The method includes a mixing step in which granules to be coated are mixed, substantially at ambient temperature, with colouring agent composition particles. During mixing the temperature is controlled to remain below the melting temperature of the carrier use.
