ABSTRACT:
Method for converting pendant functional groups, particularly upon perfluorocarbon copolymeric cationic exchange materials, to sulfonyl fluoride pendant functional groups. The method comprises a catalyzed reaction between the perfluorocarbon functional group and SF.sub.4 under pressure at relatively mild reaction temperatures.
