ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to improvements in the art of aluminizing the phosphor screens of image display devices such as television cathode ray picture tubes. An improved method comprises the application of a highly alkaline aqueous dispersion of a siliceous coating agent and a surfactant prior to aluminizing. The solution includes an acidic pH-lowering substance in an amount sufficient to adjust pH to a neutral range.
