ABSTRACT:
A method for the self monitoring transducer in which approximate calibration of the transducer does not require physical disconnection of the measuring chain so that the transducer need not be uncoupled to be measured. The method permits monitoring the transducer during its operation by modulating at least one predetermined quantity h.sub.i with a suitable actor. The measuring signal associated with the individual modulation quantities are used to monitor and calibrate the transducer.
