A method and system for interactive case and video-based teacher training is provided. The invention includes a server portion200and a client portion202. A media database100, a video assignment or video assessment database102, an administration database104, and a user database106interact with a computer system108and with a lesson-builder program114and a lesson viewer program116in order to allow for the development of time-indexed video case-centric lessons and courses, which are stored in a lesson database110. The computer system108communicates with a plurality of client computers206via a browser program208, allowing teacher-users or general users to interact with the lesson-builder program114and the lesson viewer program116for the creation and use of lessons. The lessons generated and used in the present invention are video-centric, and the present invention provides for the use of time-coded or time-indexed references to relevant portions of the video.
