ABSTRACT:
Methods and systems for detecting aquaplaning of a vehicle both before and during braking in a vehicle anti-lock brake system (ABS) when the front wheels experience deep and substantial slip and tend not to recover. The system includes a wheel speed sensor for measuring the speed of each of the vehicle wheels, and a control unit for determining whether the anti-lock brake system should be activated without the need for applying a test braking pressure.
