ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for the continuous production of strip steel from ferrous ore includes a separate ore reducing furnace, a refining furnace, a degassing chamber and continuous casting means. The refining furnace includes inert gas injecting means connected to a porous floor and an enclosed deep settle bath section beyond the porous floor.
