ABSTRACT:
A method and device for controlling a headrest, in which the headrest is controlled its displacement between use and non-use positions as well as its fore-and-aft adjustment movement, through an automatic control system or a manual control system. A changeover switch is provided to select one of those automatic and manual control systems, and further, during operation of the automatic control system, the manual control system can be actuated simply by operating an associated manual adjustment switch. Additionally, a safety arrangements are included, which protects an occupant against the headrest which will contact him or her due to its erroneous operation.
