ABSTRACT:
A method and compositions for stimulating the growth of vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi alone or in the presence of a plant material using isoflavonoid compounds is described. The isoflavonoids are preferably of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxyl and alkoxy, particularly methoxy.
