ABSTRACT:
A composition containing stannous chloride and potassium perchlorate is suitable for oral administration to a patient for tinning red blood cells of the patient in vivo prior to labeling the red blood cells with radioactive .sup.99m Tc. The composition is useful for preparing a patient for blood pool imaging, and especially for carrying out equilibrium gated cardiac imaging.
