ABSTRACT:
A method and an apparatus for the automatic semicontinuous peritoneal dialysis, wherein the dialysing solution is pumped from the supply bag to the peritoneal cavity of the patient in a predetermined amount sensed by control means, by which the pumping means are actuated to change over the pumping direction the same dialysing solution being pumped to and from the peritoneal cavity for a predetermined number of times.
Shunting means are provided for the pumping means, whereby the latter are short-circuited between the delivery and the suction side if any abnormal condition occurs.
