ABSTRACT:
A method for automatically adjusting the temperature of the boiler water in a hot water heating system in proportion to changes in the heat demand rate in the space heated by the boiler water wherein the change in heat demand rate is established on the basis of the off-time interval in the cyclic off and on activation of the pump which circulates the boiler water through heat radiators in the space being heated. The circulating pump off times are measured, and the boiler water temperature is continuously measured. The change in space heat demand rates is calculated by calculating the change in the length of the off-time intervals of the circulating pump. The boiler water control circuits are activated to adjust the boiler water temperature control set points upward or downward in direct proportion to the change in the calculated space heat demand rate.
