ABSTRACT:
A method for regulating dew formation on a photosensitive drum in an image forming apparatus comprises detecting the surface temperature of the photosensitive drum, detecting the internal temperature of the image forming apparatus and detecting the internal humidity of the image forming apparatus. A dew point is calculated and it is determined whether the surface temperature is higher than the dew point. If the surface temperature is lower than the dew point then the operation state one or more components within the image forming apparatus is adjusted to regulate dew formation. However, if the surface temperature remains higher than the sum of the dew point and the threshold value, normal operation is maintained.
