ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for photothermal detoxification of toxic organic compounds are provided. The apparatus comprises a means for maintaining the gas stream from the targeted source at a temperature of greater than 200.degree. C., an optional air pollution control device, a radiation source which emits radiation at a wavelength of less than 320 nm and an outlet for releasing the nontoxic reaction products to the atmosphere.
