ABSTRACT:
Embodiments are described herein to provide better predistortion solutions for the linearization of high power amplifiers, especially those with memory effects. Many embodiments involve a method in which a predistorted signal znis generated from input signal xnin accordance withzn=⁢∑k=1K⁢∏q=1Q⁢⁢Pkq⁡(xn-q-1)=⁢P11⁡(xn)⁢P12⁡(xn-1)⁢⁢…⁢⁢P1⁢Q⁡(xn-Q-1)+⁢P21⁡(xn)⁢P22⁡(xn-1)⁢⁢…⁢⁢P2⁢Q⁡(xn-Q-1)+…+⁢PK⁢⁢1⁡(xn)⁢PK⁢⁢2⁡(xn-1)⁢⁢…⁢⁢PKQ⁡(xn-Q-1)for K terms and Q−1 delays, wherein each Pkqis a complex valued function of a single complex variable. Also described are predistorter apparatus embodiments in which a predistorter includes complex multipliers for multiplying the value of each Pkqhaving the same value of k to produce K products and at least one adder for adding the K products to generate predistorted signal znfrom input signal xnin accordance with the equation above.
