ABSTRACT:
A playing field layout device includes an alignment guide having a plurality of lines marked thereon. A stake is inserted in the alignment guide, and a cord has one end attached to the stake. The cord has a plurality of marks thereon. The playing field may be, for example, volleyball, croquet, or badminton and may be laid out by aligning the cord over relevant lines and marking distances at predetermined locations indicated by the marks. The layout device may then be removed from the playing field so that it does not interfere with the participants.
