ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for interosseous bone fixation. Portions of bone on opposite sides of a fracture are compressed toward each other by inserting the opposite ends of a bone staple into each bone portion and crimping the central portion of the staple. A bone staple having a central web portion adapted to be crimped into substantially an inverted V shape is also disclosed. Various devices for crimping a bone staple are also disclosed.
