ABSTRACT:
In order to maintain in a rectifier or an inverter, operation with a constant terminal d-c voltage in the event of an asymmetry of the network on the a-c side, the present invention provides a voltage analyzer which determines an asymmetry signal with which a given control angle is modulated. For an inverter, the modulation is accomplished by the formula cos=(-U.sub.= .multidot.cos .sub.0 -2.sub.dx .multidot.i.sub.d)/.vertline.U(t).vertline., where U.sub.= =.vertline.U'.vertline.-.vertline.U".vertline. is the difference of the co-rotating system amplitude and the counter system amplitude and gives the maximally attainable d-c voltage values and U(t) (the instantaneous amplitude of the fundamental system). The d-c voltage is thereby limited to the value U.sub.= and contains no variations caused by the network asymmetry.
