An image acquisition and display assembly12for use upon a vehicle10and which includes a pair of substantially identical cameras14, 16which are adapted to receive images of objects50, 52or portions of the vehicular ambient environment27located in the front of and/or along the sides24, 26of the vehicle10and of objects28, 30or portions of the vehicular ambient environment27located in the rear and/or along the sides of the vehicle10. The assembly12may include a pair of movable mirror assemblies34, 36which selectively and respectively communicate with cameras14, 16, thereby allowing the cameras14, 16to receive the desired and previously delineated images.
