ABSTRACT:
This invention provides a metallic coating method comprising the steps of applying a thermosetting polymer coating composition containing no metallic flake pigment to an article to be coated to form a first layer, applying a high solids thermosetting polymer metallic coating composition to the first layer to form a second layer while the first layer retains a viscosity of about 3 to about 500 poises at 20.degree. C., applying a clear thermosetting polymer coating composition to the second layer to form a third layer and heating the coated article to cure the three layers at the same time.
