ABSTRACT:
A cutting tooth, viz. roughing tooth (2) and finishing tooth (3) made from cutting metal for a metal slitting saw, especially a circular disk saw, the geometry of said tooth being determined by the primary clearance angle (.alpha.), the rake angle (.gamma.), the radial clearance angle (.beta.), the tangential untoleranced dimension (s-e) and a tangential land (12) on the finishing tooth (3) with a negative relief angle (.epsilon.), in which for both the roughing tooth (2) and the finishing tooth (3) the cutting edge (7; 7', 7") is stabilized by a negative land (5; 5', 5"), and in which the angle (.chi.) between land and chip breaker face (4) is about 190.degree. to 240.degree., especially about 205.degree. to 230.degree..
