ABSTRACT:
There is provided a novel construction of a metal melting furnace that can preheat and melt the entire material more efficiently and that can facilitate operations for removing oxides deposited on the surface around the melting burner and the inside thereof and thus reduce the time for cleaning the inside of the furnace. The metal melting furnace10includes a melting chamber20that has a material charging port21and a flue22at the top and a hearth section25along which melted material flows down to a molten material holding section60at the bottom, wherein a combustion chamber30equipped with a melting burner35is formed below the hearth section25, a heating plate40comprised of a heat-resistant plate having high heat conductivity is disposed in the hearth section25above the combustion chamber30, and an exhaust gas outflow passage50from the combustion chamber30is formed in a side wall of the melting chamber20.
