ABSTRACT:
If a plurality of menu items in a menu includes a particular menu item that leads to a content item that is to be promoted when displaying the menu, a promotion for the content item is displayed beside the menu items. An up command is provided to move a cursor position upward by one menu item in the menu. A down command is provided to move the cursor position downward by one menu item in the menu. A right command is provided to move the cursor position to the particular menu item from any other one of the menu items. When the cursor position is at the particular menu item, both the particular menu item and the promotion are displayed with a cursor-position-indicating visual characteristic.
