The solution pertains to a membrane for barium ion selective electrode formed by the film of suitable polymeric material, for example, high-molecular weight poly(vinyl chloride), with an ion exchanger based on a neutral carrier, namely N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-di-(2-n-butyloxycarbonylphenyl)diamide of 3,6,9-trioxaundecandioic acid ##STR1##
