The present invention relates to a melt processable wholly aromatic polyester which includes the recurring moieties (I), (II), (III), and (IV), wherein the recurring moiety (IV) is present in an amount of 5 to 35 mole % based on the total amount of the moieties and can be subjected to melt process at a temperature below 350.degree.: ##STR1##
