ABSTRACT:
Melamine-formaldehyde resins of high transparency, good light fastness and low solubility are prepared from heavily N-oxymethylated melamines highly etherified with C.sub.1 to C.sub.2 alkyl, by vented kneading in liquid form at 120.degree.-160.degree. C followed by curing, all without local overheating and without the application of kneading pressure to solidified resin. A self-cleaning kneader is used and the resin that is produced is highly suited for carrying fluorescent dyes and the like.
