ABSTRACT:
According to the measuring head, the zero point and the amount of front travel settings are facilitated. Firstly, the amount of front travel is set by allowing contacts34, 34to abut a master50. Then, rotating the lever42in a direction indicated by an arrow E, or a close position, causes the bearing member36to be fastened to the swinging support shaft28. At this time, a restoring force, or a force caused by reaction, of the bearing member36transferred from the bearing member36through the arm38, cam plate40and shaft48to the measurement lever32causes the measurement lever32to deflect by an amount that equals to the amount of front travel, and therefore from the position where the amount of front travel is set to the zero point position. This automatically sets the zero point position.
