ABSTRACT:
A material for organic electroluminescence devices for use as a host material in combination with at least one phosphorescent metal complex contains a compound represented by formula 1:wherein R1to R10are each independently hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group having 1 to 40 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl group having 3 to 15 carbon atoms, heterocyclic group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms which is optionally substituted, alkoxy group having 1 to 40 carbon atoms, non-condensed aryl group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms, condensed aryl group having 10 to 18 carbon atoms, aryloxy group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, aralkyl group having 7 to 20 carbon atoms, arylamino group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms, alkylamino group having 1 to 40 carbon atoms, aralkylamino group having 7 to 60 carbon atoms, arylcarbonyl group having 7 to 40 carbon atoms, alkyl halide group having 1 to 40 carbon atoms, or cyano group, R8and R9being optionally bonded to each other to form a ring structure and each of R1to R10being optionally substituted and having no polymerizable functional group at its terminal end; and X is sulfur atom or oxygen atom.
