ABSTRACT:
A marine propulsion device comprising a lower gearcase, a bearing housing which is supported by the lower gearcase and which includes an exterior surface having therein an annular groove, a propeller shaft rotatably supported by the bearing housing and adapted to have mounted thereon a propeller, and a retaining member which is supported by the lower gearcase and which extends into the groove.
