ABSTRACT:
A safety lock cylinder is constructed so that a door can be opened or closed manually from one side, preferably the outside by inserting a key in a key guide and from the other side with a motor. The remote control of the lock can be prevented, if desired. By manually closing the door with the key in the key guide, the key and motor are releaseably coupled to the lock operating mechanism so that when the key is inserted the motor is decoupled from the mechanism, preventing danger to a person holding the key.
